  1. One must first contact the local Nursing Aide Registry and ask them to send you an application form. Also make sure it is filled out perfectly or they will send it back and you will have to do the whole process again. you application will then need to be sent to the Licensing Office in your state. During this process you will also be sending a copy of the form that verifys that you passed an accredited CNA course, which this verifcation for will be provide to you upon completion of your class. When they get this you don’t have to worry about getting it to the Nursing Aide Registry as they will do it for you. A criminal background checkand a tubercolosis test will be required along with possibly having to take a physical. When this is all done, then you will have to wait until your application is granted approval by The Board of Nursing.
  2. The next step to getting nursing aide certifcation is to actually enroll in classes. You can find classes through the Red Cross, local hosptials as well as community colleges. These classes will either be on location at the hospital or campus or your can choose to enroll in an online class. When choosing which method will suit your situation best, you can ask for information on getting your certification for free as there are multiple scholarships and grants that are being offered.
  3. The third step in receiving your nursing aide certifcaion is doing clinical training which will help you know how to react in real life training, which clinical training is done near the end of your CNA training class.
  4. When you are done with the above steps you will then have to take the CNA competency evaluation which consists of two parts, a written portion which is a multiple choice tests, as well as a clinical portion where you need to demonstrate anywhere from 3 to 5 patient skills correctly.

After you have completed the steps above, and passed both portions of the exam, you will be maild you CNA certification within 1 to 2 weeks and have the credentials needed to apply for a job as a CNA.
